Prince Harry and the Page 3 girl

Page 3 girl Lauren Pope

Prince Harry is well known for his love of the party life - and used to the publicity it attracts.

But even he might be surprised to learn today that his latest admirer, who perched herself on his knee in Mayfair club China White, was a Page 3 girl.

Model Lauren Pope made a beeline for Harry and his brother Prince William, who were enjoying a night out together in the VIP section of the club.

William has learned to be careful not to be caught by girls determined to make headlines, but his 19-year-old brother perhaps is not so cautious.

According to onlookers, within seconds of introducing herself to Harry, the opportunistic Ms Pope sat herself down on the prince's lap, whispered in his ear then started kissing and cuddling.

What he really thought of the ambush is clearly unknown. But The Sun newspaper today was in no doubt.

"There was an instant spark between Harry and Lauren. He looked very pleased when she plonked herself down beside him and started chatting," the newspaper reported.

"She was leaning over and whispering in his ear. At one point she popped up on to his knee and he draped her arm around him. She kissed his cheek and he was like the cat who got the cream."

Of course, it had all the hallmarks of a stunt that many royal princes - not least his uncle Prince "Randy" Andy, now the Duke of York - fell victim to in their youth.

But Harry - who arrived with an Australian friend called George at around 1am and left at 1.30am - did not seem too bothered about providing this girl's career with a boost.

Both William and Harry are fast becoming regulars on the club scene in London.

Last year William made headlines when he danced with an Australian model at the Purple Club in Chelsea Village.

And during his seven-week trip to Australia, Harry was seen drinking in a number of bars.
