Rock band in plane drama

13 April 2012

US country rock band the Dixie Chicks were at the centre of an emergency alert today when a wingtip of their executive jet clipped an airport building soon after landing.

The scare happened at Glasgow Airport moments after the three girls and their party landed from Dublin.

No one was injured and the band vowed to perform as planned tonight at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow.

Their publicist, Barbara Charone, said: "The girls are all absolutely fine. I'm sure it wasn't pleasant.

"The incident happened when part of the wing just hit a corner of the building."
