Six charged in £1m cocaine raid

Six people have been charged with attempting to smuggle 20 kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of £1 million into the UK, Customs officials said today.

Three men and one woman were detained yesterday morning after they arrived at Gatwick Airport on a Virgin Atlantic flight from Antigua.

Two more men were arrested later.

All six were due to appear before magistrates in Crawley, West Sussex, today charged with attempting to smuggle the prohibited class A drug into Britain.
