Soft spot for royalty

Bridget Jones star Renèe Zellweger has dismissed reports that she once dated Prince Andrew - but revealed she fancies his nephew William.

Zellweger said she was flattered by being linked to the Duke of York, adding: 'Wasn't that great?

I was getting calls from my friends all over Europe saying "What's going on?". I was incredibly proud of myself, I even called my mum.'

She said: 'Prince Andrew is fine but Prince William would be very nice too, please. Maybe somebody could get that going.' Zellweger is not the first celebrity with a crush on William - Britney Spears once said she was a fan.

The star, currently filming Bridget Jones sequel The Edge Of Reason, told ITV show This Morning she was having more fun filming in Britain this time because she felt at home.
