Sun's out for the weekend

Make the most of the hot weather this weekend - there's rain on the way.

Forecasters say that although temperatures will remain above average for this time of year, most of the country can expect rain in the early part of next week.

Tomorrow will be warm again, with south and south-east England expected to stay hot and dry. Some rain is forecast for the North and West during the afternoon, and temperatures will range from 21C (70F) in Northern Ireland, to 23C in Wales and the South-West, 26C in northern parts of England and a high of 30C in London.

South-east England will start to see showers on Monday. These will turn heavy and thundery on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Northern Ireland and Scotland will also see heavy rain.

Temperatures will stay high in the early part of next week, ranging between 20C (68F) in Scotland and Northern Ireland, 22C in south-west England, Wales and northern England, and 25C in London.

A PA WeatherCentre spoke swoman said: "These weather patterns are not unusual at this time of year."
