Teenage girl raped in park

12 April 2012

A girl of 15 was raped and suffered a broken wrist as she fought her assailant in a Lewisham park.

The rapist pushed the girl into a stream and held her head underwater during the attack which took place in Beckenham Place Park between 4pm and 5.30pm on Saturday.

Detective Inspector Simon Ellershaw today appealed for information. He said: "It was broad daylight in a popular park. I am appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything of the incident. Did you see a white girl fighting with a light-skinned black man?"

The girl was wearing black leggings, brown Ugg boots and a brown top. Anyone with information should call 020 8284 8300 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
