Thameslink misery continues for thousands of commuters

Dick Murray12 April 2012

More than 200,000 passengers using the Thameslink route are still suffering major disruption two months after train drivers refused to work overtime.

National Rail Enquiries confirmed that disruption will last "until further notice".

Thameslink — one of London's busiest commuter routes — operates between Bedford and Brighton via Luton Airport Parkway, Farringdon, Blackfriars, East Croydon and Gatwick Airport.

Journey times are being extended by 30 minutes and there are daily cancellations. Operator First Capital Connect has been involved in a long-running pay row with its drivers, who have refused to work Sundays and rest days.
