Ulster takes on Treaty for £10m

ULSTER Television is expanding further south of the border with the £10m acquisition of Treaty Radio in Limerick.

Since its launch in 1997 Treaty, broadcasting as Live 95FM, has captured a 38% market share in the county with almost 90,000 listeners.

Ulster is paying e15.7m (£9.6m) for it and taking on e1.2m of debt. Treaty made operating profits of e720,000 last year on revenues of e2.61m.

Ulster also said it had completed the purchase of the 40% of another Irish radio station, County Media, that it did not already own.
