Wanna buy an Obama paper?

They cost a dollar apiece when they were hot off the presses ...

But 24 hours later newspapers bearing the news that Barack Obama was president are fetching 100 times as much on eBay.

A copy of the Chicago Tribune's special edition with a full page photo of the local senator had reached $100, with 13 bids.

Copies of the New York Times and The Washington Post were also attracting wild bids of up to $400.

There were simply not enough to go around, with souvenir hunters and dealers snapping up dozens at a time. Official campaign bumper stickers were going for $20 and posters for $40, yet they were handed out free a few days ago to anyone who wanted them.

For $2,200, buyers can get a signed first edition of his memoir, Dreams from my Father. "This is a true historic election and your chance to own a piece of history," said the seller, who got it signed at a rally.

A signed hardback of The Audacity of Hope looked a bargain at $1,500.
