A Florida woman who befriended a $17 million lottery winner has been charged with trying to conceal his killing, five days after his body was found in her garden.

Dorice "DeeDee" Moore, 37, is accused in connection with the murder of Abraham Shakespeare, 43, in Hillsborough County.

Police said Moore took "steps to make it appear that the victim was still alive" but at the same time tried to find someone she could pay to take the rap for his killing and someone to dig up and move his body. County Sheriff David Gee said: "We're going to find everyone that was involved."

Detectives said Mr Shakespeare was killed last April at a home in a rural town east of Tampa.
Moore befriended him after he claimed a $30 million winning ticket in 2006 and took a
$17 million lump sum payment.

She said she wanted to write a book about Mr Shakespeare but officials allege she scammed him out of money.
