Yachtsman's body found off Thailand coast

Ed Harris13 April 2012

THE body of the British yachtsman murdered last week by pirates off the coast of Thailand has been found.

Fishermen retrieved the body of Malcolm Robertson 10 miles north of Lipeh Island. The 64-year-old businessman from Hastings was believed to have been bludgeoned to death and thrown overboard into the Andaman sea after pirates boarded his yacht Mr Bean he was sailing with wife Linda. Mrs Robertson was kept tied up for 10 hours.

The family, including the couple's four grow-up children, today said they felt nearer to "closure". Mrs Robertson's brother, John Clee, 63, added: "This sorts a lot of things out."

Thai police can now act against three Burmese migrant workers who confessed to the killing but could not be charged with murder until the body had been found.
