JCB Song digs in to No.1 slot

Metro5 April 2012

A song about a JCB might make for an unlikely Christmas No. 1 - but that is almost certainly what you will be watching on the festive edition of Top Of The Pops this year.

The JCB Song by little-known band Nizlopi went straight into the charts at No. 1 yesterday. Luke Concannon and John Parker's offering beat off competition from Irish boyband Westlife, US cabaret act the Pussycat Dolls, Madonna and the Crazy Frog's seasonal novelty single Jingle Bells/U Can't Touch This.

Concannon, 27, said: 'This feels quite amazing really because we just didn't think that we would get a No.1. It is great that a tiny family-run record label from Warwickshire can go up against acts such as Westlife and the X-Factor winner who are on massive record labels.' Curtain Call The Hits by Eminem, remained at No.1 in the album charts.
