Since revealing her six-year struggle to conceive with husband John Legend, Chrissy Teigen announced last week that they are finally expecting a baby.

Born in Utah to a Norwegian father and Thai mother, the 29-year-old spent her childhood living in Hawaii, Idaho and Washington, before finally settling in Huntington Beach, California when Teigen was a teenager.

Having been discovered by a photographer while working in a surf shop, she went on to sign for IMG modelling agency in New York.

Best known for her work as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Teigen has also appeared in campaigns for Gillette, Olay, Nike, Gap Factory, UGG and Billabong.

It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Speaking to Marie Claire, she admitted food has always been her passion, not modelling.

"Basically I was really modeling for fun, but it wasn't ever something that I wanted to do to begin with."

"I always loved food and I think I kind of needed an outlet. I didn't want to just talk about modeling all the time and just be in the modeling realm. It wasn't to shock people like 'oh models eat and models like to cook', it wasn't about that at all. I just kind of needed somewhere to just talk."

And with the entirely legitimate excuse of eating-for-two, we're expecting twice the amount of deliciousness to hit the blog over the coming months.
