Harry Styles made a memorable Met Gala debut on Monday evening as he took to the red carpet in head-to-toe Gucci.

The 25-year-old musician, who is known for his statement suits, embraced the Camp: Notes on Fashion theme by ditching his signature two-set in favour of a sheer, lacy black blouse and extremely high-waisted trousers.

The delicate, transparent shirt featured dramatic ruffle detailing and a large pussy bow, and also showed off many of the musician's tattoos.

The outfit was accessorised with heeled patent boots, one statement pearl earring and a selection of chunky rings. The Sign Of The Times singer's nails were also painted with black and pastel green nail polish.

Styles, who is the youngest co-chair in Met Gala history, was joined by Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele, who was also a co-chair of the evening.

The designer donned a similar ruffled design in a more eye-catching metallic pink as he took to the pink carpet with the singer.
