Fashion writer Karen Dacre picks this weeks must haves

Say goodbye to Front-row Spots
With every catwalk season comes one unsightly inevitability: terrible skin. A lack of sleep, water and sunlight does hideous things to a girl. Our remedy? Liz Earle's Spot On, a blend of essential oils and antibacterial tea-tree oil that actually works. Give that women an OBE for services to skin. (£7.90, lizearle.com)

Go Dotty
Three cheers for a much-needed increase in our serotonin levels: spring, it would seem, has just about sprung. What better way to celebrate than with the purchase of a pretty, polka-dot-print prom dress (try saying that after a few drinks) like this one (£32), new this week to Topshop. Wear it now with navy tights, loafers and a boyfriend cardi. (topshop.com)

Banana Bag
This season, the only bag to carry is a leather sack - or so say fashion's most beautiful, who chose styles by Coach and Prada during the shows. This more affordable version is from Banana Republic, £65, which has a shiny new store at 23 King's Road, SW3. (Opens Thursday.)

Au naturel
Congratulations to those clever clogs at M&S who have once again surpassed themselves with a desirable new lingerie line. The Nearly Naked range is a collection of bras and pants in mocha, light apricot and cocoa - you know, so you can find the perfect shade to match your skin. Ingenious, no? (From £15, marksandspencer.com)

Wrist Tinsel
We may be completely off the mark here - it's been a long few weeks- but it seems bracelets are enjoying a bit of a moment. This knitted skull style from Elkin (£99) is a favourite on the front row. FYI: the most stylish way to sport these is two or three at once. (elkinshop.com)

People's Prints
Is Laura Ashley the new Liberty? FairTrade fashion brand People Tree certainly seems to think so, having called on the use of three of the store's most iconic prints to create a Seventies-inspired capsule collection. Highlights include printed frocks, scalloped-edged shorts and our favourite: this rose-print smock top (£75). Ah, it takes you back, doesn't it? (peopletree.co.uk)
