Photo booth offers free 'professional' Tinder and Facebook profile pictures to Londoners

Facebook is a hotbed of unattractive tagged photos, and according to a new survey, 1 in 4 Londoners wouldn’t want their boss to see their current profile picture.

But if you’re one of many that’s still sporting an unforgiving selfie of you and your mates after a few too many beers on your social media accounts - don’t worry, because a new scheme can help you to improve your profile picture game both professionally and socially.

From today, Londoners who happen to be in east London can pop into a photo booth that has been specially installed on Old Street roundabout to get a professional headshot taken for their social media profiles.

The service is being offered by Bidvine.com to celebrate the launch of Facebook at Work, a tool for companies that allows workers to chat and collaborate with each other.

However, the company says the photographs can be used not just for Facebook - but for dating profiles and professional networking sites like Linkedin.

The photo booth launch comes as new research sheds light on our obsession with updating our profile pictures on a regular basis - the average Facebook user changes their profile photo once every five months, while Grindr users generally change theirs on an average of two weeks.

The booth will be open from October 10-14, with other cities to follow soon after. Best of all? It’s completely free.
