These are the official job titles of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spend their days going to royal engagements – meeting people from all walks of life along the way.

Yet we must admit we have always wondered, what are their official job titles?

Luckily, with the release of Prince Louis’ birth certificate our burning question has been answered.

Under the ‘occupation’ header – Prince William is listed as the ‘Prince of the United Kingdom’ and the Duchess of Cambridge is listed as ‘Princess of the United Kingdom’.

Yep, probably the coolest job titles of all time.

This also means that Kate Middleton is technically a Princess – but the reason she and Prince William are known by their Dukedoms is because the title of ‘Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’ is a higher rank in the royal hierarchy than Prince and Princess.

Prince Charles – being the heir to the throne – is currently the head of principality as the Prince of Wales, meaning Duke is William’s highest rank at the moment.

Prince Louis’ official birth name is also listed and it’s quite the mouthful. He is officially known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge.

The Duke and Duchess’ official titles are His Royal Highness Prince William Arthur Phillip Louis Duke of Cambridge and Catherine Elizabeth Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge, respectively.

It certainly makes my ‘Laura Jane Hampson’ sound a little pathetic …
