Renault unveils Talisman

Laguna replacement for Europe, but not UK
Graham Scott13 October 2015

Renault’s Laguna replacement is not scheduled to be launched in the UK because D-segment saloons and MPVs are not growth areas here, but they are in Europe.

There is already a Renault model sold in China called Talisman, so the naming of this model shows Renault’s desire to create more global cars.

Expected to go on sale in 2016, the Talisman displays the overall saloon shape of cars like the Mazda 6 or Volkswagen Passat, but with a front end that more like the next-generation Renault Megane, which is also due to arrive in 2016.

Europeans and others will get a choice of two petrol and three diesel engines. These range from a 108bhp 1.4-litre turbodiesel to a 197bhp petrol engine. The car will also come with Renault’s four-wheel steering system, 4Control, and active dampers offering four modes: Comfort, Sport, Eco and Neutral.
