A man has been stabbed during an attempted robbery in an exclusive west London street, police say.

The victim, in his late 20s, was knifed in Beaufort Street, Chelsea, shortly before 11.40pm last night.

London's Air Ambulance attended and he was rushed to a central London hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Police do not believe his wounds are life-threatening.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "At this early stage, it is believed that the man may have been stabbed during an attempted robbery."

No arrests have been made.
