A three-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a rush hour crash in Croydon.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision at the junction between Barclay Road and Fairfield Road just before 5pm.

London's Air Ambulance was among those racing to the scene, near to Park Hill Park, along with Metropolitan Police officers.

A Met spokeswoman said: "Police were called at around 4.45pm to reports of a collision involving a child and a car at the junction between Barclay Road and Fairfield Road.

"Officers attended, as did the London Ambulance Service .

"A three-year-old boy was taken to a south London hospital with serious injuries."
