A police officer suffered a concussion and another a fracture after a motorcyclist became violent during a traffic stop in Croydon.

Scotland Yard are appealing for witnesses after officers stopped the 23-year-old riding a motorcycle at Cherry Tree Green, Croydon at 10am on Thursday.

The man became violent during the stop and was arrested when officers deployed their Taser, police said.

Police said they found a knife at the scene.

A 23-year-old man has been charged in connection with the assault.
