A young man is injured in hospital today after he was shot in south London.

Gang police are investigating after the victim, aged in his 20s, was gunned down in Denmark Hill this afternoon.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene of the shooting on an estate near Basingdon Way at about 1.40pm.

The man was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

A Met Police spokesman said: "No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.

“The Trident and Area Crime Command has been informed.”
