Dramatic moment thief grabs passenger during robbery on bus

This is the dramatic moment a man was robbed as he sat on a bus in south-west London.

The 65-year-old victim had withdrawn a "large amount" of cash from a bank shortly before he boarded a 295 bus on Plough Road, Wandsworth.

He sat at the back of the bus and was joined by another man who got on at the same stop.

After a while, he was approached by the man who grabbed him and wrestled an envelope containing the cash from his pocket.

The man then fled the bus.

Police today released CCTV footage of the robbery, which took place at around 10.35am on Tuesday, October 25.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 6ft tall and unshaven. He wore a black coat, black trousers and grey trainers.

Police have appealed for anyone who may recognise him to contact them.
