Entrepreneur killed in Poplar named as one of the victims in six days of London knife violence

A businessman stabbed to death during six days of bloodshed moved to the UK as a teenager and built up his own construction firm.

Gleb Zhebrovsky, also known as Gleb Stalnoy, was knifed in Alton Street, Poplar, on Saturday and died at the scene.

The 34-year-old Chelsea fan, who was born in Russia and moved to England aged 17, founded Hands On Crew. It provides labourers to the construction and events industries.

He previously worked on Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s On the Run II concert at the London Stadium and Katy Perry’s Witness: The Tour concert at the O2 in Greenwich.

Friend Iuri Santos, 25, said: “He saw the good in everyone.”

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Yasin Omar Amare, 28, of Penge, has been charged with his murder. Another man, 33, was arrested on Saturday and has been released on bail.
