A wine retailer is offering a £10,000 reward in the hunt to catch a robber who attacked a worker over the head with a bottle and locked him in a toilet during a hold-up.
The raider threatened to kill the sales assistant, who he then set upon with the bottle of wine just minutes after the victim opened Majestic Wine Warehouse in West Ealing for the day.
He then left the "heavily bleeding" victim locked in the shop's toilet with cuts to the head and stab wounds to the arms and hands, police said.
The suspect left the premises in Hastings Road with "a quantity of cash" after the raid, at around 10.05am on May 20, according to police.
Scotland Yard said Majestic Wine, which has branches across London, is now offering a reward for information leading to a successful prosecution and conviction of the robber.
Detective Constable Phelim Redmond, from the Met's Flying Squad, said: “This was a particularly nasty robbery during which the attacker used a gratuitous level of violence and could have resulted in a more serious outcome. I am appealing for help in identifying the person responsible before he strikes again.”
The suspect is described as black, aged between 20 and 25, around 6ft-6ft 2in tall with a stocky build and a grey hooded top.
