A teenage boy has died after being hit by a car on one of London’s busiest roads.

The 14-year-old died yesterday following the accident on the westbound North Circular Road near Brent Cross on Tuesday afternoon.

Police and paramedics rushed to scene following reports of the crash around 3.30pm.

The pedestrian was taken to a west London hospital where he died yesterday morning.

His next of kin have been informed, however, formal identification is yet to take place. A post-mortem examination and inquest are yet to be scheduled.

The driver of the Mercedes estate car involved stopped at the scene and was not arrested.

Detective Sergeant Chris Osborne, senior investigating officer, said: “This is a very serious collision that happened on one of London’s busiest roads.

“It is very important we find out exactly how this occurred and the events leading up to it. If anyone saw the collision or knows anything about what happened beforehand, please contact us.”
