A brawl in a McDonalds in south London left a young man hospitalised after he was stabbed in the early hours of the morning.
Eyewitnesses described seeing two males fighting outside the McDonalds restaurant on Old Kent Road before they spilled inside, forcing the restaurant to close.
Police were called and a man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital to be treated for a stab wound.
An eyewitness who saw the aftermath of the stabbing told the Standard: “There was a fight outside in the road and it looked like the boys stabbed each other. They went into McDonalds and that is where I think people were arrested.
“I saw it from a window across the street. McDonalds has been closed down and I went in to try and get breakfast and, at first, they wouldn’t let me in but when they did let us in they wouldn’t serve us. It has all been taped off now.
“When I went in I saw one of the boys with bandages around his stomach and one looked seriously injured. They were talking to police who were taking notes.”
A Met Police statement said: “Police were called at approximately 5.15am on Sunday April 29 to reports of a fight at a McDonalds restaurant in Old Kent Road, SE1.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, aged in his 20s, suffering a stab injury.
“He has been taken to a south London hospital for treatment - his condition is not thought to be serious.”
The restaurant has been cordoned off. No one has been arrested.
