Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked and left with a fractured skull on a train in south London.

The victim was allegedly verbally abused by a man in front of him as he boarded a train at East Croydon Station on October 23.

The alleged attacker moved towards another carriage with another man, who was not involved in the [incident] assault, before getting off the train before it pulled away from the platform.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the investigation.

Detective Constable Rachel Smith said: “The victim has suffered some very serious injuries. I’d like to speak to anyone who saw the attack or has any information that could help us in our investigation.

“This was a busy service so there would have been people in the carriage who would have witnessed the assault. If you saw anything, please contact BTP.”
