Ten people have been arrested following a north London derby clash at White Hart Lane last night - where Arsenal fans appeared to tear down Spurs signs lining the ground.

Police said the arrests related to a range of suspected offences including criminal damage, public order and assault.

Minor scuffles between fans and stewards are believed to have taken place following the final whistle, which saw Arsenal claim victory over their north London rivals.

Pictures taken after the match appear show away supporters ripping white "Tottenham Hotspur" signs from the walls lining an upper tier of the stand.

The images seem to capture the fans revelling in the damage and goading Spurs supporters beneath.

There were also rumours on Twitter of a stabbing outside the ground but a Scotland Yard spokesman dismissed the reports as "unfounded".

Arsenal beat Spurs 2-1 to knock the side out of the Capital One Cup.
