The boyfriend of ex-EastEnders star Sian Blake, who is suspected of killing her and their two children in south east London, has agreed to return to the UK.

Arthur Simpson-Kent, 48, appeared at court in Accra, Ghana, today and said he would not fight extradition back to Britain, according to reports.

The hairdresser left the country days after Ms Blake and their two sons Zachary, eight, and four-year-old Amon were reported missing.

They were last seen on December 13, and were found buried in the back garden of the family's Erith home on January 5. Post mortem examinations found they died from head and neck injuries.

Police had spoken to Simpson-Kent at the house on December 16 but returned two days later to find the property empty. He was arrested in Ghana on January 9.

Scotland Yard is under investigation by the police complaints watchdog over the way it handled the case.

The back garden of the house was only thoroughly searched in early January, after murder squad detectives had been called in.

Ms Blake, who suffered from motor neurone disease, played Frankie Pierre in 56 episodes of EastEnders between 1996 and 1997.
