Six people have been arrested after a man in his 20s was stabbed for refusing to give up his bike in north London, police have said.

Officers were called to Hertford Road, Edmonton, just after 1.30pm on Sunday.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital, after he reported being approached by a group of men who demanded he hand over his bike, Scotland Yard said.

When he refused, he was stabbed, according to police.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance where his injuries have been assessed as non-life threatening.

Six males have since been arrested by officers on suspicion of assault and remain in police custody.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD4241/4 August.
