This is the terrifying moment a gunman leapt from a car and opened fire in a north London street leaving two innocent bystanders injured.

Shocking footage released by the Met shows two men pulling up in a car on the Peabody Estate, Islington, before one of them jumps out and fires a gun.

The CCTV footage appears to show a nearby bystander, a man in shorts, falling to the floor in terror as the gunman chased after another man, who was his intended target.

A female bystander was also injured in the melee.
