Woman killed with blow to liver in Homerton

Detectives are appealing for information following a murder in Homerton.

They wish to speak with anyone who may have information following a disturbance that preceded the death.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service around 9.35pm on Thursday to a residential address on Anderson Road E9.

A woman, believed to be 34, was found dead at the scene.

Officers believe they know the woman's identity but await formal identification. Next of kin has been informed.

A post-mortem gave cause of death as blunt trauma injury resulting in a ruptured liver.

An incident room has opened under detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command.

Two men aged 32 and 34 were arrested in connection with the death. The younger man was released without charged and the older man remains in custody.
