Two teenage boys have been arrested over the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy after a birthday party in an east London park.
The two 17-year-olds were arrested on Saturday morning at different addresses in east London over the death of Charlie Kutyauripo.
They are both being held on suspicion of murder.
The victim had been attending a party in a social club at Ashton Playing Fields on Saturday, January 9, with about 100 people.
Police said he was stabbed in the chest outside the club at about 9.30pm following a "confrontation". He died in hospital about an hour later.
Following the arrests, Scotland Yard said it is still searching for 16-year-old Aaron Alexander Tavares-Gaiete, who is a suspect in the murder investigation.
Police repeated an appeal first issued on Friday for any family and friends who may be helping to him to come forward.
In a statement released by the Met, the dead teenager’s grieving family said: “We hope that if anybody knows anything, they should come forward and help find whoever did this because to the world he was just a 16-year-old boy, but to us, that was our son taken.”
