Cyclist 'serious but stable' after being hit by a bus in Hackney

A cyclist has been hit by a bus in a serious crash in Hackney.

Police were called to the junction of Old Street and Great Eastern Street on Wednesday evening.

Ambulances were spotted at the scene treating the female cyclist.

She is in a serious but stable condition, police said.

A spokesman for the Met said the call came in at just before 7pm to reports of a serious collision.

Ambulances and police raced to the scene and the road has been closed.

The bus driver stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their inquiries, police said.
