A London woman has hit back after her chocolate and cheese toastie left people so disgusted that one even reported her to the police as a joke.
Houda Serfag was met with widespread revulsion after she posted about the “invention”, a combination of chocolate spread and cheese on a slice of toast, on Twitter.
The 20-year-old, who feasts on the toastie every time she has cravings, wrote: “Hi twitter so heres my amazing choc and cheese invention which I'm eating as I tweet.”
Among her many critics was Jack Young, from Glasgow, who tweeted Police Scotland to ask if they were aware of the snack.
However Miss Serfag has responded to naysayers, saying that anyone who has an issue with the toastie it clearly hasn’t tried it.
She said: “I love both cheese and chocolate so I thought I'd try the two together and surprisingly it tastes great!
“I don't eat it too often as it can be quite fattening of course but whenever I have cravings I make myself the sandwich.
“I use mild cheddar cheese as mature is a bit overwhelming but you can use others such as edam and gouda cheese which are a bit more milky.
“Anyone who finds it disgusting clearly hasn't tried it and I recommend that they do as I have friends who initially thought it was vile but once they tried it they went in for seconds.”
Despite Miss Serfag’s vehement defence, many other people have made it clear they share Mr Young’s views.
One Twitter user described it as a “perversion”, while another said it was “actually 100 per cent a criminal offence”.
