Pedestrian, 87, dies after being hit by motorbike in south London

An 87-year-old man has died after being hit by a motorbike in south London, police have said.

Police were called at 2.57pm on Tuesday, April 18 following reports that a motorbike had collided with a pedestrian on Croydon Road, Keston.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the victim died at the scene.

The 23-year-old rider of the motorbike was arrested by police and remains in custody in a south London police station.

The victim’s family has been informed and are being supported by officers.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit have appealed for information from any witnesses or drivers in the area who may have dash cam footage.
