Radio presenter dresses up as 'omnipresent' London Underground Trivago model for Halloween

A radio presenter dressed up for Halloween as the "omnipresent" Trivago model who unnerved Londoners after her face appeared all over the Tube network.

Commuters had compared repeatedly encountering the face of the smiling model to “constantly being followed” and like a “bad dream” as they travelled across the capital earlier this summer.

Absolute Radio presenter Pete Donaldson donned a brunette wig and a blue shirt and dressed up as the ‘Trivago woman’ over the weekend for the Halloween festivities.

Sporting an online search bar with the Trivago branding across his chest, he took to the capital’s streets to show off his costume.

Mr Donaldson was applauded by Twitter users for the outfit after he tweeted a picture of himself on the social media site that was shared more than 1,000 times.

One social media user wrote: “Definitely Halloween inspired, [the advertisement] incited terror in ad people everywhere”. Others branded the costume “fantastic” and “perfect”.

Gabrielle Miller, an Australian actress, gained a cult following after she was selected for the hotel comparison site’s advertisement that appears all over the world.

Since it was rolled out in London, social media users were quick to point out how frequently they encounter the poster that is “taking over” the Underground.

One Twitter user wrote: “The Trivago woman must be stopped. Her Ubiquity is soul-crushing,” with another adding: “seriously paranoid that the Trivago woman is stalking me on the tube.”

Others told how the advert was so widespread it crept into their dreams, with one commuter writing on social media: “I too have Trivago nightmares....there is no escaping this woman!”
