Sadiq Khan today called on Londoners to share their ideas and concerns with a major survey that will help inform his new police and crime strategy.

The Mayor asked people to share their experiences of issues ranging from local neighbourhood policing and violence against women to preventing terrorist attacks.

City Hall said he wanted to hear first hand from Londoners who had been victims of crime and those who had interacted with police, as well as finding out how safe they felt in the capital.

The survey, on the Talk London website, will run for three weeks with the final results informing the Mayor’s policing plans for the capital over the next four years, which include crime prevention, swifter justice and cutting reoffending rates.

Mr Khan said: “The safety of Londoners is my first priority, and I want to ensure that everyone in our great city is given a chance to contribute to my plans to make it even safer.

“We all have friends, neighbours and colleagues whose lives have been blighted by crime, and these issues affect every aspect of life in London.

"We want to hear about your experiences of policing and crime in the capital so that we can address those issues that really matter to you.”
