Audience members injured when a set collapsed last month at the Camden Roundhouse have called in lawyers representing victims of the Apollo theatre roof collapse.

Three members of the public and a performer were hurt during the Fuerzabruta acrobatics show last month. The audience members were taken to the Royal Free Hospital.

They are now demanding to know how the accident happened and what is being done to prevent it occurring again.

They have approached law firm Irwin Mitchell, which is also representing some of the theatregoers injured in the Apollo incident in December. Shortly before Christmas, the ceiling collapsed during a performance of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time.

Solicitor David Urpeth said: “Both collapses shocked a great number of people in London and across the UK. Our clients are keen for answers but also for reassurances that others will not have to face the same problems they have endured.”

He said it was “vital that theatres and other venues learn lessons” from the accidents, adding: “The incidents have put a real spotlight on the safety, management and maintenance of such sites.”

A Roundhouse spokesman said the incident was “extremely regrettable”. It cancelled the following performance and started an investigation into the collapse.
