A man has died after a car crashed into a van in West Drayton.

Police were called the junction of Stockley Road near junction 4 of the M4 at about 5.20 this morning to reports of a car in collision with a van.

One of the drivers, a man, was treated on arrival by paramedics after being found suffering a cardiac arrest, but died at the scene. His age is not yet known.

A second person was taken to hospital with injuries to their wrist and neck.

A picture tweeted by Hillingdon MPS this morning showed debris strewn across the road and the front end of a black car crushed in the crash.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) and an air ambulance attended.

Transport for London has warned the road will be closed “for some time” and commuters should expect delays throughout the morning.

It has since been reopened.

A LAS spokeswoman said: “We were called at 5.12am today (28 April) to reports of a road traffic collision at Stockley Road, Hillingdon.

“We sent two ambulance crews, two incident response officers, two single responders in cars, a motorcycle paramedic and also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance to the scene.

“We treated one patient suffering cardiac arrest but sadly he died at the scene. We also treated a second patient for shock, neck and wrist pain and took him to hospital as a priority.”

No arrests have been made.
