Another row to get stuck into

14 February 2014

The Big British Immigration Row, which airs on Channel 5 next Monday, will see former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie go head to head with panellists such as Nancy Dell’Olio, Vanessa Feltz and economist Vicky Pryce. It’s a follow-up to last week’s The Big Benefits Row, which saw Edwina Currie tearing strips off chef-on-a-budget Jack Monroe.

The Londoner was surprised to see Pryce among this new line-up; when not at Her Majesty’s pleasure, the former wife of ex-MP Chris Huhne is considered a serious intellectual, more likely to be spotted at the Fabian Society than on a TV format described as “a bit like Question Time meets Jeremy Kyle”.

“We want these debates to reflect a whole range of views,” a Channel 5 spokesman says. Whatever next? Celebrity Big Brother?
