Jeremy Clarkson tweeted what could have possibly been his last words the other day. “I am about to embark on my longest ever trans-London bike ride. Almost certainly, I shall be killed.”

When I saw him before he sent the tweet, outside Daunt Books in Holland Park, he explained: “Right turns terrify me. I prefer to wheel my bike across the road.” Why is the little rabbit so frightened? Has he learned, as presenter of Top Gear, just how dangerous macho drivers can be?
