Boris and the Aussies: it's a mutual love-in

A new word has been coined Down Under. “We have been Borised,” says Caroline Cornish, organiser of the Melbourne Writers’ Festival, which the Mayor of London launched last Thursday. “Boris was a huge success at the opening of the Melbourne Writers [sic] Festival. He entertained, inspired and entranced the audience.

“His wife and family were utterly delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting them all. It has been a welcome distraction to the election campaign which is in full flight.” Sounds like the campaign needs to be Borised. The Mayor’s chum, Lynton Crosby, is in Australia keeping a close eye on it.
