The revival of the Polish Hearth Club in Kensington since portrait painter Basia Hamilton took over as chairman continues. Last night a packed house for dinner heard Celia Sandys talk about her grandfather Winston Churchill. One of the guests was Sir Richard Branson’s mother Eve. She said she would love to have gone on Virgin’s planned trips into space. “I think I’m probably too old,” she told me. “But I wouldn’t mind going on the ‘mother ship’.”
