Eddie Izzard, who last month announced that he may run for London Mayor, gave an interesting insight into his electoral priorities at the Altitude comedy festival in Mayrhofen, Austria, last night.

Speaking at the launch of the festival he is headlining, he said: “Skiing and snowboarding are too beautiful to be left to the rich.” Let’s hope that means free ski passes for London schoolchildren on Alpine slopes if he’s elected.
