Orbach wooed but answer is not so much 'I will' as 'I might'

The Londoner is dusting off his top hat. On Valentine’s Day, writer Jeanette Winterson proposed to Susie Orbach on Twitter, excusing the medium by saying, “Well, marriage is a public declaration, isn’t it?” There was silence from the psycho-analyst who has been in a relationship with Winterson for four years.

But hope came this weekend. “She is considering her position,” Winterson tweeted of Orbach over the weekend. “She doesn’t believe in marriage, though she does believe in me. Now considering diamonds.” So much for surprises.
