Pregnant Kate poo-poos daily dog-walking clean-up

Has the Duchess of Cambridge given up walking her dog? In the latter days of her pregnancy it seems dog-walking chores have been delegated to a flunky.

Only the other day while walking past Kensington Palace, I was pleased to see Lupo, William and Catherine’s cocker spaniel, being exercised on an expanse of lawn that most London dogs can only dream of.

Before she was expecting, the princess happily walked Lupo herself, er, mucking in with the chores of canine ownership.

However, it would seem this tiresome job has now been passed down the chain of command — a member of staff was trotting around in Lupo’s wake, small plastic bag expectantly to hand.

Is Kate worried that she might pick up an infection? There’s no reason why the Duchess shouldn’t be walking Lupo. Dogs, unlike cats, are regarded as being a safe pet for a mother-to-be.

“It’s not true to suggest she has been told not to walk her dog because she is pregnant,” says a St James’s Palace spokesman. So perhaps she is just showing commendable common sense and wants to avoid chasing after Lupo if he runs away.
