Rutting stags raise the roof

Many a Chelsea accent was heard at a fundraiser held in aid of the National Autistic Society last night at Shakespeare’s Globe. On stage was Old Marlburian comedian Jack Whitehall, who enjoyed mocking his fellow toffs. “You can’t sound scary with a posh voice,” he said at the Spectrum 14 event. “When I was growing up I was in a pub and two guys had a fight. They were rutting like stags in red trousers. One of their friends shouted, ‘Go on, Monty, he’s dishonoured you.’ It wasn’t a pub fight, it was a duel.”

Other guests included charity president Jane Asher and Made in Chelsea’s Francis Boulle, who donated a diamond worth £10,000 for the auction. “Ten grand?” one diner exclaimed. “We spend that on taxis.” Sigh.
