A person has died after being hit by a train in south London.

British Transport Police said officers, fire and ambulance crews were called to Bromley South station just after 8.30am to reports of a person hit by a train.

A spokeswoman confirmed the person, whose age and gender is not yet know, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Southeastern Rail said services into Victoria station had been delayed and cancelled until at least 12noon.

The fatality occurred just half an hour before a woman, aged in her 20s, was injured after being hit by a Piccadilly line Tube train at Arsenal station, in north London.
